I had the privilege of working on a National Geographic and Hyundai-sponsored project called Outside Academy, a web platform designed to give kids a virtual window into the beauty and wonder of America’s national parks. Using 360 video, the site allows students to explore iconic landscapes and learn about the natural world from anywhere.

As the project photographer, I captured imagery that showcased the stunning vistas and unique details of Zion National Park in Utah, Yosemite National Park in California, and the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. In addition to shooting photography, I served as Assistant Camera (AC) to Director of Photography Pete Konczal and operated the gimbal for dynamic car-to-car shots. I also handled post-production for the final photographs and video selects, including the 360 videos that anchor the interactive site experience.

This project combined cutting-edge 360 video technology with storytelling to make the parks accessible and engaging for a younger audience. Below are a few of my favorite shots from the project, and you can explore the site and see my work, along with contributions from other talented photographers, at Outside Academy.
